Forecasted wind speeds on South Padre Island. Learn about the upcoming days to week wind forecast for local conditions on the island. These graphs show the wind forecasts for the North Flats kiteboarding location on SPI. The first wind graph shows the wind in MPH for the next 4 days. The second shows the approaching winds for the entire week.
Winds at Holly Beach (accross the bridge on the mainland Texas) are known to be awesome for southwesterlies, boasting some of the steadiest wind you can find. Unfortunately the launch is sketchy, Plenty of kite-eating-catus. We often drive across the bay and find wind when there isn't enough on the island side of the bay. We can launch anywhere from the boats, and have scouted out several tiny islands to launch from as well. If there's no wind and you want to skip the launch call us and see if there is a wind search party heading out.
