Kiteboarding Self Rescue in South Padre
Jeff Hoxtell demonstrates How to Self Rescue

In the latest issue of the KiteWorld Magazine, Air Padre Kiteboarding is featured in a self rescue editorial that we wrote up for the magazine! Jeff Hoxtell, the owner of Air Padre Kiteboarding, is captured in these photos (credit Paul Sheetz) showing how to pack down the kite step by step. See below for all of the photos of Jeff!

The article, written by Paul Sheetz, Brett Newcomb and Jeff Hoxtell goes through the basic outline of how to properly perform a deep water pack-down/ self-rescue when something goes wrong with your kiteboarding equipment. The article can be found on page number 116 of KiteWorld Issue #45. For the full article, check out our posted and scanned version of the self rescue on the kiteboarding tips web page.

Self Rescue Steps Overview

  1. One Line the Kite
  2. Retrieve the Bar
  3. Wrap Up the Lines
