Best Place to Learn how to Kiteboard

Find out why Air Padre is the best on South Padre and the world!

Best Place in the World to Kiteboard - South Padre Island, Texas
Best Place in the World to Learn Kiteboarding

South Padre Island is quickly becoming well-known as one of the best places in the world to learn how to kiteboard. However, deciding which kiteboarding school to take your kiteboarding lessons at can be an important decision. Most soon-to-be kiters want to go with a safety conscious school, that is reasonably priced, with modern kiteboarding equipment. These are all important considerations, as well as a few more that you will soon find separates Air Padre Kiteboarding facility from the other schools on South Padre Island, Texas.

Air Padre Kiteboarding is the most highly regarded kiteboarding school on South Padre. With over 7 certified instructors teaching during the busy seasons, 5 boats, full service kite shop, radio helmets and a fully stocked lesson center, Air Padre is the best when it comes to learning how to kiteboard on South Padre Island. Listed below are 3 significant reasons that set Air Padre apart from the other kite schools on the island.

Water Proof Radio Helmets

1. Water proof Radio Helmets for every student

Air Padre Kiteboarding school uses water proof radio helmets with every student we teach. Helmets and impact vests are important to have on all kiteboard lessons; however, the addition of radio communication in our helmets allow us to also provide you with the information that you need, when you need it. This prevents yelling over the wind, or waiting till something goes wrong before we tell you how to fix the error. Radio helmets are an important teaching tool that all of our students quickly acknowledge and tell us how well they work!

Boat Supported Lessons

2. Full boat support on water start and riding lessons

Full boat support on all lessons past intro courses means no walking. With boat supported lessons, we have the ability to take sufficient backup kite equipment for changing conditions and situations. As well as the room to bring along significant others or family members to share the great experience with you! The Laguna Madre Bay is just deep enough for our boats, but is still shallow enough for the student to stand up at all times throughout the lesson. Boats also enable lessons to be held at the best riding locations in the bay available only by boat, and also stay away from the other crowded kiteboarding areas. No crowds and the best spots make for confident and quick learning.

Commitment to Kiteboarding Safety and Education

3. Commitment to safety and education

Air Padre prides itself on keeping students safe and teaching them how to be self-sufficient riders. We take the time to teach you important safety procedures that will keep you kiting for a long time. All riders that Air Padre turns out not only know how to kiteboard well, but are knowledgeable about changing weather conditions, safety precautions, right-of-way rules, and self rescue techniques. We teach you the whole picture and ensure that you can continue your kiteboarding career in a safe and productive manner.
