Air Padre Watersports Rentals
This summer Air Padre Kiteboarding is expanding to offer beach-side stand up paddleboard, kayak, surfboard, skimboard and bodyboard rentals. This Memorial Day weekend marked the start of the on the beach water sports rentals on South Padre Island. The Air Padre crew sets up shop on the beach in front of Wanna Wanna Beach Bar and Grille (5100 Gulf Boulevard) to offer rentals and water sports lessons for those interested. We have decided to come to where you are! Check out the beach side location to take part in any of these activities with you friends and family. Call the shop 956-299-WIND (9463) to get directions and inquire about setup times.
Stand up paddleboarding is a fun and easy sport that anyone can enjoy and feel like a surfer! The boards are essentially oversized surfboards that have a huge amount of float. The idea is simple and fun. Grab the large SUP and a paddle and explore the crystal clear ocean waters with your friends or family for only $20. SUP lessons are also available.
We have several single, glass bottom and surf rental kayaks available on the beach side as well. For only $20 per kayak, you can enjoy the ocean and marine life just off of the Wanna Wanna Beach Bar and Grill. Life jackets and paddles are all included in the $20 rate. Tandem kayaks or fishing kayaks are available at the Air Padre Shop.
When the surf is up in South Padre, you can head over to the beach and rent a surfboard. No hassle carrying the board or transporting. All you have to do is show up and rent a surfboard for only $20. We have various sizes depending on your expertise in surfing. A surf instructor is also on site to provide surfing lessons for those who have never tried the sport and are looking for a lesson. Surf lessons are $45 per hour on the beach site location.
Skimboards are a great way to enjoy the beach with your friends and family! Skimboarding involves throwing a thin board in the shallow water and riding it into oncoming waves. Check out the skimboard rentals on the beach along with the kayaks and SUPs.
Bodyboards (or Boogie Boards) are available to rent for only $10! We carry top of the line Custom X bodyboards to ensure that anyone can ride the waves all day long on the South Padre Island coastline. Choose from several different colors and sizes.
