Higher Education is a new supplemental instructional program that is free to all participants. The classes are held every weekend at the Air Padre Kite shop, on the back deck during the April and May. The classes are by no means meant to replace actual kiteboarding lessons. They are simply to provide additional knowledge and helpful tips on different skills that can be covered in a classroom situation. Some examples of classes that are coming this spring include: bladder repair, wind window, board repair, gear orientation, bar tuning and others.
Higher Education has been developed to help out all kiteboarders that are looking to expand their knowledge of the sport. Since the classes are completely free to attend, it gives those who attend a huge amount of information for no money at all. IKO and Pasa qualified kiteboarding instructors will teach the classes to ensure accurate information is being presented. Higher Education classes are a great supplement to taking kiteboarding lessons from Air Padre Kiteboarding. It is your chance to clarify some thoughts, and ask some questions of the instructors. In combination with kiteboarding lessons during the day, and free additional classroom instruction in the evening or morning, you can obtain a very comprehensive understanding of the sport of kiteboarding.

All Higher Education classes are held on the back deck of Air Padre Kiteboarding. The classroom setting does not involve actually flying kites or riding boards, but covers the theories in a presentational manner from the instructors. All involvement and discussion by the students is greatly appreciated since the instructors are there to help you out. There will be props and gear available to examine and discuss in the classroom setting.
Higher Education classes are held every Friday evenings at 7:00pm, Saturday morning at 8:00am, Saturday evening at 7:00pm, Sunday morning at 8:00am, and Sunday evening at 7:00pm. Since April and May is one of the best wind season for South Padre Island, we feel that most will be able to attend these classes. The schedule for the classes are:
